Creating Your Account

X Account Verification Explained

When you sign in with X, RentMyX uses this to verify that you control the account you want to offer:

  • Proof of Control: X login only serves as proof that you control your account
  • No Account Access: RentMyX never takes control of or accesses your account
  • Your Control: You manage your own content and profile updates

Creator Guide

Listing Your Inventory

After account setup, navigate to your Creator Dashboard to list available inventory slots:

Profile Header

  • • Set your daily rate (recommended: $50-$500 depending on reach)
  • • Upload current header or leave blank for brand's image
  • • Set minimum booking duration (e.g., 3 days minimum)
  • • Mark availability on calendar

Avatar

  • • Set your daily rate (recommended: $30-$300)
  • • Note: Avatar changes affect all posts/replies during booking period
  • • Consider higher rates due to high visibility

Bio Section

  • • Set your daily rate (recommended: $25-$150)
  • • Specify character limits for brand content
  • • Allow/disallow links in bio

Standard Posts

  • • Set your daily rate (recommended: $10-$200 per post)
  • • Brand posts tweets from your account with your engagement
  • • Specify posting frequency and timing preferences
  • • Set content guidelines and approval process

Pinned Post

  • • Set your daily rate (recommended: $75-$750)
  • • Specify media requirements (text only, image, video)
  • • Set content guidelines

Managing Bookings

When a Brand Books Your Slot:

  1. You receive an email notification with booking details
  2. Brand submits their content for your review
  3. You have 24 hours to approve, request changes, or reject
  4. Once approved, content goes live automatically on the start date
  5. Our system verifies placement and releases funds to your account daily

Content Approval Process:

  • Review content against your personal brand guidelines
  • Check for prohibited content (see Terms of Service)
  • Request revisions if needed (brands usually respond within 12 hours)
  • Approve to confirm booking

Pro Tip: Set up content guidelines in your profile to pre-screen bookings. Specify industries you won't work with or content types you don't accept.

Earnings & Payouts

How You Get Paid:

  • Brand's payment held in Stripe escrow when booking is made
  • For continuous bookings, placements are continuously monitored via X API
  • After verification, earnings released to your account (minus 10% platform fee)
  • Funds transferred via Stripe to your connected bank account

Payment Schedule:

  • Continuous verification for active bookings
  • Verified earnings appear in your dashboard automatically
  • Automatic payout via Stripe within 24-48 hours
  • View all earnings history in the Earnings tab

Finding Creators

Use our marketplace filters to find creators that match your campaign goals:

Follower Count: Filter by audience size (10K+, 50K+, 100K+, 500K+, 1M+)
Category/Niche: Tech, Finance, Gaming, Fashion, Fitness, Business, etc.
Price Range: Filter by daily rate within your budget
Availability: See real-time availability calendar before booking
Inventory Type: Filter by what's available (header, avatar, bio, standard posts, pinned post)

Verification System

How Automatic Verification Works

RentMyX uses X's official API to verify placements automatically. No manual screenshots required.

Daily Check: Every 24 hours at midnight UTC, our system queries the X API for each active booking

Content Comparison: We compare current profile data against the approved booking content

Why This Matters: Removes trust issues between brands and creators. No disputes about whether content was actually published. Both sides get cryptographic proof.

Failed Verification

If verification fails, the following happens automatically:

  1. Creator receives immediate notification of the issue
  2. Creator has 6 hours to fix and republish correct content
  3. If not fixed within 6 hours, that day is marked as "unfulfilled"
  4. Brand is not charged for unfulfilled days
  5. Funds returned to brand's account automatically
  6. If 2+ consecutive days fail, contract may be terminated

Payments & Payouts

Stripe Escrow System

All payments flow through Stripe's secure escrow system to protect both parties:

For Brands (Advertisers)

  • Funds held securely when booking is made
  • Only charged for verified placements
  • Automatic refunds for unfulfilled days
  • Dispute resolution if contract violated

For Creators

  • Guaranteed payment for verified placements
  • Payouts after verification via Stripe
  • No payment delays or disputes
  • Protected from chargebacks

Grace Periods & Campaign Completion

What is the Grace Period?

The grace period is a 24-hour window after a campaign ends that gives buyers time to review the placement and verify everything went as agreed.

Why it exists: This protects both parties. Buyers get time to verify the campaign was live and performed correctly. Creators know payment is guaranteed after this window closes.

How the Grace Period Works

  1. Campaign Ends: At the scheduled end time, the campaign officially concludes
  2. Grace Period Begins: A 24-hour review window opens for the buyer
  3. Reminder Emails: Both parties receive email notifications (campaign ended, grace period is active)
  4. Manual Review: Buyer can click "Mark Complete" to approve, or file a dispute if there are issues
  5. Auto-Completion: If buyer doesn't act within 24 hours, system automatically completes the campaign
  6. Payout Eligible: Creator's earnings become eligible for the next bi-weekly payout batch

What Happens During Auto-Completion

When the grace period expires without manual action, the system automatically completes the contract:

  • Contract status changes to "Completed"
  • Creator payout becomes available for the next payout cycle (sent bi-weekly on 2nd and 4th Fridays at 10:00 UTC)
  • Both parties receive email notification of auto-completion
  • Important: Buyer can still file a dispute after auto-completion if issues are discovered later

What if There's an Issue During Grace Period?

If the campaign didn't go as agreed, the buyer can file a dispute:

During Grace Period (Recommended)

Click "Request Mediation" to file a dispute. This pauses the auto-completion and freezes payouts while our team investigates.

After Auto-Completion

Even if the grace period expires, you can still file a dispute. However, it's faster to dispute during the grace period before payout is processed.

Dispute Resolution

When to File a Dispute

File a dispute if the campaign didn't meet the agreed terms:

  • Campaign wasn't live on the creator's profile as agreed
  • Wrong content was displayed (different from approved version)
  • Campaign ended earlier than the scheduled date
  • Content violated the creator's brand guidelines
  • Payment or payout issues
  • Any other contract violation

How to File a Dispute

  1. Navigate to Contract: Go to the specific booking in your Bookings page
  2. Click "Request Mediation": Look for the button during grace period or in the contract details
  3. Select Reason: Choose the primary issue from the dropdown (placement, content, timeline, payment, other)
  4. Provide Details: Write a detailed description of what went wrong and what you expected
  5. Attach Evidence: Upload screenshots, timestamps, or other proof (optional but helpful)
  6. Submit: Our team will be notified and begin review

Mediation Timeline

Immediate (Upon Filing)

  • Contract enters "Disputed" state
  • Payout is automatically paused (funds held securely)
  • Both parties notified via email

2-3 Business Days (Simple Cases)

  • Admin team reviews evidence
  • May contact one or both parties for clarification
  • Decision rendered

Up to 10 Business Days (Complex Cases)

  • Requires additional investigation
  • Multiple rounds of information gathering
  • Both parties given opportunity to respond

Resolution Options

After review, disputes are resolved in one of these ways:

Buyer Favor

Full or partial refund issued to buyer. Creator receives reduced or no payout (depending on degree of breach).

Creator Favor

Dispute dismissed, full payout released to creator. Buyer charged in full.

Partial Split

Both parties share responsibility. Refund issued to buyer (typically 25-75% based on impact), creator receives partial payout.

After Resolution

  • Notification: Both parties receive email with the decision and rationale
  • Immediate Effect: Refunds (if applicable) are processed to original payment method within 5-10 business days
  • Creator Payout: Adjusted earnings are included in the next bi-weekly payout cycle
  • Contract Status: Marked as "Resolved" with resolution details available to both parties

Cancellations & Refund Policy

Refund Timeline by Booking Status

Before Payment (Any Time)

Buyer: Can cancel the booking with 100% refund (never charged)

Creator: Can decline the booking with 100% refund to buyer

After Payment, More than 7 Days Before Start

Refund: 100% refund minus ~3% payment processing fee (Stripe passes through actual fees)

3-7 Days Before Campaign Start

Refund: 75% refund to buyer

Creator keeps 25% for reservation and preparation costs

Less than 72 Hours Before Start

Status: Cancellation requires dispute/mediation review. No automatic refund.

After Campaign Starts

Status: Cancellation requires dispute/mediation review. Refund determined case-by-case.

Creator Cancellations (Post-Payment)

Creator Policy: If a creator cancels after the buyer has paid (regardless of timing), the buyer receives a 100% refund and the creator receives no payment.

Policy Strike System

  • First cancellation: Warning and 1 policy strike recorded
  • Multiple strikes may result in account review or suspension
  • Strikes reset after 90 days of good standing

How Refunds Are Processed

Automatic Refunds (Timing-Based)

  • Refund initiated immediately when cancellation is processed
  • Returned to original payment method (credit card, bank account, etc.)
  • Timeline: 5-10 business days for funds to appear

Dispute-Based Refunds

  • Processed after mediation decision is made
  • Amount determined by admin team review
  • Timeline: Up to 10 business days after resolution

Partial Refunds

  • Pro-rated based on actual campaign duration
  • Calculated daily for mid-campaign cancellations
  • Mediation decision specifies exact refund amount

Special Circumstances

Technical Issues

If RentMyX experiences technical problems (verification system down, payment processing errors), affected bookings receive full refunds with no penalties.

Mutual Agreement to Cancel

Buyer and creator can agree on custom refund arrangement. Contact support at hello@rentmyx.app to document agreement.

Force Majeure (Account Suspension, etc.)

If creator's X account is suspended or deleted, or buyer's account is suspended: Case reviewed individually. Generally, full refund to buyer, no penalty to creator.

Stripe Connect & Payout Setup

Eligibility Requirements

To set up Stripe Connect payouts, you must have:

  • Verified Email Address: Email must be confirmed in your RentMyX account
  • Supported Country: 40+ countries supported including US, UK, EU countries, Canada, Australia, and more
  • Age 18+: Legal adult or business entity
  • Valid Government ID: Passport, driver's license, or national ID card
  • Bank Account: Account in your name that accepts direct deposits

7-Step Onboarding Process

  1. Navigate to Settings → Payouts: Log into your RentMyX account and go to account Settings
  2. Click "Connect with Stripe": You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure form
  3. Choose Country & Business Type: Select your country and indicate if you're an individual or business (individual recommended for creators)
  4. Provide Business Details: Most fields auto-fill from your X profile. Verify name, email, and other info
  5. Identity Verification: Upload a photo of your government-issued ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID). For some accounts, also a selfie
  6. Add Bank Account: Enter your bank account details (account number, routing number, or IBAN depending on country)
  7. Review & Submit: Double-check all information and submit. You'll be redirected back to RentMyX

Verification Stages

🟡 Deferred

Your account is set up but not yet verified. You can accept bookings but cannot receive payouts.

This is a temporary holding state. Stripe will complete verification within 1-3 days.

🔵 Pending

KYC (identity verification) is under review. Bookings accepted, payouts still blocked.

Typical timeline: 1-3 business days, sometimes up to 7 days for additional verification

🟢 Complete

Verification approved! You can now receive payouts on the bi-weekly schedule.

Payout schedule: Bi-weekly on 2nd and 4th Fridays at 10:00 UTC

Troubleshooting Common Issues

❌ "Additional Information Required"

Stripe needs more details to verify your identity. Check your Stripe dashboard (linked from RentMyX settings) for specific requirements. Common issues: inconsistent name spelling, expired ID, or unclear photo.

⏳ "Verification Pending" for 5+ Days

Usually resolves automatically within 1-3 days. If still pending after 5 days, contact support with your Stripe account ID so we can investigate with Stripe.

🌍 "Country Not Supported"

Stripe supports 40+ countries. If your country isn't supported, contact support to explore alternatives (PayPal, wire transfer, etc.).

🏦 "Bank Account Rejected"

Ensure your bank account supports direct deposits and is in your name. Try adding a different account, or contact your bank to verify ACH/direct deposit is enabled. Some business accounts require additional verification.

FAQ & Troubleshooting

What happens if a buyer doesn't mark my campaign complete?

If the buyer doesn't manually mark the campaign complete within 24 hours of the end time, the system automatically completes it. Your earnings become eligible for the next bi-weekly payout batch (2nd and 4th Friday). The buyer can still file a dispute after auto-completion if they discover issues.

How do I know when I'll get paid?

Payouts are sent bi-weekly on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month at 10:00 UTC. Only completed, verified campaigns are included. You'll receive an email summary before each payout batch. Make sure your Stripe Connect account is fully verified (Complete status) to receive payouts.

What if I need to cancel a booking after payment?

It depends on timing. More than 7 days before start = 100% refund (minus 3% fees). 3-7 days before = 75% refund to buyer (creator keeps 25%). Less than 72 hours or after start = requires mediation. Creators who cancel post-payment forfeit all earnings and receive a policy strike.

Can I cancel a booking after it's approved?

Creators cannot cancel once approved without penalty. Brands can cancel up to 24 hours before start date for full refund. After start date, refunds pro-rated based on remaining days.

What if my X account gets suspended?

All active bookings automatically terminated. Brands receive refunds for remaining days. Creators receive payouts for verified days only.

How do I revoke RentMyX's access to my X account?

Go to X Settings → Security and account access → Apps and sessions → Find RentMyX → Revoke access. Note: This will terminate all active bookings.

Can I edit content after it goes live?

Brands can request edits, but creators must approve. Major changes may require contract renegotiation.

What happens if verification system goes down?

Manual verification process activated. Both parties notified. No penalties during system outages.

Can I book the same creator multiple times?

Yes! You can book different inventory slots or the same slots for different date ranges.

Do I need to pay taxes on earnings?

Yes, creators are responsible for reporting income. We provide annual earnings statements for tax purposes.

What if a brand's content violates X's ToS?

Content is pre-screened, but if missed, creators should report immediately. Contract terminated, full refund to brand, no penalty to creator.

Can I offer discounts for longer bookings?

Yes! Creators can set tiered pricing (e.g., 10% off for 7+ days, 20% off for 30+ days).

Is there a minimum follower count to list as a creator?

No minimum, but we recommend 10K+ for meaningful pricing. Smaller accounts still welcome.
